Cozy Campers doesn't organize its fleet by van size the way CampEasy or Go Campers do. It organizes by age and price: three Highlander 4x4s that are "Premium," five Renault Trafic conversions that are "Standard," and five older listings — some of them a different, smaller vehicle entirely — that are "Budget." That is Cozy's own top-level menu, and it is the structure this page follows, because it is the distinction that actually decides what you get.
The two Highlanders that market themselves as "extended" are worth reading carefully. Cozy's own copy for the Highlander II and Cozy 2 both promise "more space and storage," but the published spec table shows the same 5 m length, height and width as their non-extended sibling — the number that's actually bigger is the luggage allowance, not the vehicle. The Highlander III and Cozy 3 are the real size step up: both are 5.4 m long with a wider 160 × 193 cm bed, and both carry a single 10-litre water tank rather than the smaller models' two, despite sleeping three instead of two.
"Budget" is not one thing across the fleet. On the Highlander line it means the same Volkswagen Transporter a few years older — same 4x4 running gear, same F-road clearance. On the Cozy line it means a smaller Volkswagen Caddy, not an older Renault Trafic; the Budget Cozy 1 is a genuinely different, cheaper van, not a well-worn version of the Standard one. Cozy's own budget-tier page is direct about the trade-off either way: "NO compensation is given in case of issues with a BUDGET camper or the included items," and the company recommends buying roadside-assistance cover for exactly that reason.
The heater is the number most worth double-checking, and Cozy is inconsistent about naming it. Every one of the eight Premium and Standard listings names a "Webasto Heating System" outright — a diesel heater that runs off the leisure battery, engine off, park anywhere. None of the five Budget listings use the word Webasto; they say only "quality heating system." It's very likely the same or a similar unit, but Cozy's own copy doesn't confirm the brand for the older stock, so this page doesn't either.
F-roads split cleanly along the chassis line rather than the price tier: all three Highlanders — Premium and Budget alike — are 4x4 and cleared for F-roads marked green on road.is, while every Cozy 1/2/3 listing, Standard or Budget, is 2x4 and barred outright by Cozy's own rental agreement. Even the Highlanders can't use everything: Road 622, F-578, F-337, F-261, F-210, F-821, F-88, the F-910 austurleið route to Askja, F-894 and F-980 are off-limits regardless of vehicle. And despite the Highlander's raised air intake being marketed for river crossings, Cozy's rental terms exclude river-crossing damage from every insurance tier and list "driving in or across rivers or any kind of waterways" as a forbidden act, full stop — the snorkel gets you through standing water on a track, not across an unbridged ford.
Two numbers apply to the whole fleet with no exceptions: every driver (and any extra driver) must be at least 20 years old with a licence held for 12 months, and every rental runs a minimum of 3 full days (72 hours) regardless of which of the 13 campers you book. There are no prices on this page, deliberately — Cozy's rates move with season, trip length and how far ahead you book, so any number typed here would be wrong within a week. "Night heating" is named "Webasto Heating System" outright on every Premium and Standard page. None of the five Budget pages use that word — only "quality heating system" — so this page marks all 13 as Webasto-equivalent but flags the naming gap here rather than hiding it. The Highlander's raised air intake is marketed for river crossings, but Cozy's own rental terms exclude river-crossing damage from every insurance tier and forbid driving through rivers outright. Treat the snorkel as protection on the approach to a ford, not permission to cross one. "F-roads" splits by chassis, not by price: all three Highlanders (Premium and Budget) are cleared: every Cozy 1/2/3 (Standard and Budget) is 2x4 and barred outright, with no exceptions for the newer Standard vans. None of the 13 campers has a toilet or shower on board. Cozy's own materials point customers to N1 fuel stations (162 of them, with a fuel discount and free coffee for Cozy renters), roughly 200 campsites (EUR 10–20 per person) or public swimming pools (about EUR 6) instead. The Highlander II and Cozy 2 are marketed as "extended" models with "more space and storage," but their published length, height and width match their non-extended sibling exactly — only the luggage allowance is actually larger. The Highlander III and Cozy 3 are the genuine size step, both 5.4 m long with a wider bed. Photos for the Cozy 1 Manual/Automatic pair and the Cozy 3 Manual/Automatic pair are partly shared: Cozy photographed one demonstration van per pair and used the same gallery on both listings, the same way CampEasy's Easy Big and Easy Big EXP share one gallery. Each listing still gets its own distinct third photo.
Premium 4x4, F-roads allowed
Cozy's own description: "NEW (up to 3 years), four-wheel drive with automatic transmission, specially customized for Icelandic highland/F-roads, and have panorama sky roof." Three Volkswagen Transporter (or Ford Transit — Cozy doesn't guarantee which chassis you get) conversions, the only campers here cleared for the highlands.
The Highlander I
Cozy's entry-level 4x4, chassis not guaranteed
Volkswagen Transporter 4Motion — Cozy's entry-level Highlander
Cozy's own spec sheet lists the base vehicle as "Volkswagen Transporter or the New Ford Transit" — you don't find out which until pickup. Either way it's a 150 hp 2.0 TDI diesel automatic with 4x4 drive, a panorama sky roof that opens, a raised chassis and larger tires, a raised air intake, and a full-size spare tire on a custom crank-release system built so it doesn't block the view through the panoramic windows. Inside: a Webasto heater, a 130 × 193 cm bed, a sink with running water, a 21-litre fridge, and power that never needs a campsite hookup — the leisure battery fully charges from the engine in about two hours, backed by a 115-watt roof solar panel.

Cozy markets the Highlander II as an "extended model" of the I with "more space and storage," and Cozy's own copy for this page literally reuses the sentence "the Highlander 2 is built with a raised chassis..." verbatim on the Highlander III's page too — a copy-paste that was never updated. What the spec table actually shows: identical 150 hp 2.0 TDI diesel, identical 5 m length, height and width, and the same 130 × 193 cm bed as the Highlander I. The one number that is genuinely bigger is luggage — 2×20 kg suitcases against the I's 1×20 kg. Everything else matches: sky roof, raised air intake, Webasto, full-size spare, solar-backed power.

Where the Highlander II's "extended" claim doesn't show up in the numbers, the III's does: 5.4 m long against the I and II's 5 m, a wider 160 × 193 cm bed, three seats and three sleeping spots, 3 goose-down duvets and 6 pillows rather than 2 and 4. Same 150 hp 2.0 TDI diesel automatic, same 4x4 drive, same sky roof, raised air intake and Webasto heater as its siblings. The trade-off for the extra berth is water: a single 10-litre tank, half of what the I and II carry, for one more person to share it with.
